Dole Cannery Welcomes Seven New Tenants
Together they will occupy more than 120,000 square feet of space


Dole Cannery in Iwilei has signed on seven new tenants in recent months, some of which have already opened their doors to the public.
Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. will install its new automated prescription refill center in the cannery and move its warehouse, medical records and print shop to the new location. The company will rent a total of 90,000 square feet of space on the first and second floor. Kaiser will open its doors to the public in spring 2001 with 150 employees.
IKON Office Solution, Inc. has located its administrative offices and storage to the cannery. IKON is the industry leader in new office technologies, including imaging and digital networking, outsourcing and facilities management and systems integration and technical education.
GKO & Associates, a consulting engineering firm with expertise in civil, structural, marine, coastal and environmental engineering and construction management, has located its general office on the fourth floor of the Dole Office Building.The company opened its doors in September with six employees.
Robert Krause & Associates, Inc. now has administrative and sales offices, as well as a showroom for office furnishings at the cannery. The store opened in May on the second floor, across from the Dole Cannery Signature Theatres.
Tropical Creations Manufacturing, Inc., a jewelry manufacturing, tours and wholesale plant, will open its doors to the public in mid-November. The plant is located on the ground floor of the cannery, directly across from the theatres. Tropical Creations has conducted major renovations on the nearly 7,500 square feet it occupies. About 5,000 square feet is devoted to factory manufacturing, and nearly 2,000 square feet is showroom space. The interior will feature murals painted by local artist Walfrido, as well as 20 picture windows, which will allow people in the showroom to see into the factory and witness artisans hand carving Hawaiian jewelry, soldering, stone setting and doing various assembly work. The plant will employ 75 people.
Temporarily renting space at the cannery are Halloween Express and the Hawaii International Film Festival. Halloween Express, located between Famous Footwear and the theatres, offers retail sales and rentals of costumes, masks and make-up. The store will rent its space until mid-November. Hawaii International Film Festival will once again have its temporary box office, poster display and film staging area based out of the cannery. The festival will rent its ground floor space next to Signature Theatre’s box office from October to the end of November.

Major businesses at the Dole Cannery complex, including Dole Office Building and the Castle & Cooke Building, are Signature Theatres and Home Depot. Castle & Cooke, Inc., founded in 1851, is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected developers. The company operates numerous commercial and residential developments on Oahu including the residential communities of Mililani Town, Mililani Mauka and Royal Kunia, as well as Mililani Technology Park, Town Center of Mililani, Dole Cannery and Dole Plantation.
